Life Groups

The teachings of Christ and the apostles give us a powerful picture of relational connections, deep life involvement, and of loving one another as the key to what the church is all about. We are committed to becoming the kind of church where the "Love One Another" teachings of the New Testament are a reality, a church where our neighbors know that we are His disciples because of the observable love that we have for one another. We believe that active involvement in a small group is the most effective way to make this happen. We are encouraging all of our members to become part of a small group. We call these LIFE Groups. LIFE Groups are for everyone and are a foundational part of being involved here at C.O.M.M.O.N. Creed.

LIFE Groups ... What are they?

Each group consists of four to twelve people who meet on a regular basis in homes, or at the church (at least every other week). The groups are formed based on shared interests, shared geography (Zones), shared ministry involvement, or a combination of the above.  They are committed to creating a "mini-church" experience that helps us grow in our faith through:

Top Gun--Mens Groups

Through the nine-month Basic Training small group experience, men can expect to develop a consistent walk with the Lord, build lasting relationships with other men, and learn to make an impact for the Kingdom.

Getting Started
You've gathered men that are interested in learning more, and you're ready to begin. What now? We recommend that groups beginning Basic Training start with a group retreat, or at least a group meeting to introduce the goals and expectations for the program.  In fact, a mini-retreat is built into the first lesson.

A retreat video is available for those desiring a more comprehensive retreat.

Regular Meetings
For the next nine months, groups of 10-12 men then meet weekly, working through the Basic Training Participants Manual. Additional materials include seven outside reading books, memorization of scripture, and an audio series. Members make a commitment to each other to stay together for the entire nine months to help build a comfort level: they agree upon a Group Covenant to facilitate progress. Comprehensive leader materials are provided.

Each week, members commit to applying the lessons they've studied, complete their "homework", and pray for each other.
